![]() Contains the frail body of King Vendrick. There is an alternative ending for players who leave the Throne Room.A crypt crawling with undead. Note: There is no "Soul of Aldia" or any other item that is rewarded after this boss fight. The most important thing to maintain is patience as Aldia's lifebar goes down-even with one hit left, do not risk getting immolated by Aldia's protection flame: just wait for it to dissipate, deliver the final blows, and Aldia will be defeated. Between attacks, Aldia does offer a lot of time to heal and rebuff (the Lingering Dragoncrest ring can lengthen magical effects to decrease the need for rebuffing). Aldia does not exactly become stronger at this point, moreover, Aldia is just more difficult to damage consistently. This move will narrow the window of attack and deal more potent damage to unwary players caught in the fire. Once Aldia's lifebar hits 50%, it will supercharge its protection flame. While this attack extinguishes Aldia's protection flame, it is a lot riskier to launch an offensive, so wait for the tentacles to go away before making any strikes. The Firestorm attack occurs when Aldia plunges four of its tentacles into the ground, which makes fiery spots appear, causing tentacles to erupt all around Aldia. The Giant Fireball attack actually takes some time and power to charge before it is launched (about 10 seconds), so this is a great opportunity to perform a quick combo, but do make it quick, because this attack can heavily damage even the most buffed player. The two most powerful attacks Aldia has are a giant dark fireball and its own version of Firestorm. Aldia surrounds itself with fire which reduces the damage it takes and severely damages any nearby player without proper protection ( Great Magic Barrier and Flash Sweat are highly recommended in this fight). Take this opportunity to attack, but do not linger for more than three or four hits. Once Aldia completes a teleportation, it is the most vulnerable. Make sure to stand clear of the explosion, because standing in Aldia's way can deplete the lifebar by half. With each teleportation, a dark, fiery mist appears to signal his teleportation. Since Aldia is a blob, it doesn't really move, rather it teleports about the room to change position for its attacks. It is possible to beat this boss solo, but it wouldn't hurt at all to bring some friends to the battle. While Aldia is certainly tough, it is not the hardest boss in the game, especially when compared to the bosses in the Lost Crowns installments. Aldia has substantial resistance to Dark and Fire. Nevertheless, Aldia poses a substantial challenge compared to Nashandra.Īldia doesn't exactly have a weakness per se, but it does take more damage against Magic and Lightning. It will speak briefly and then appear as a final boss to the game.Īs it turns out, Lord Aldia, the long lost brother of Vendrick, was the massive, amorphus blob the whole time. The last encounter with the Scholar of the First Sin will be in the Throne of Want, after the fight with the Throne Defender & Watcher and Nashandra. Go through the dialogue and choose "Yes" or "No" (once again, no difference either way), and it will disappear until the final encounter. Light the bonfire and for the final time, the Scholar will appear in a fiery explosion, but this time, a lot smaller than usual. The Scholar is found at the sole bonfire of the Dragon Shrine. Third Location: Entrance of the Dragon Shrine Exhaust his dialogue and choose "Yes" or "No" (apparently, there is no difference so far), and it will disappear. ![]() ![]() Light the first bonfire which is now located in the center of the room and the Scholar will once again appear in a fiery explosion. The Scholar can be found right in the first room of the Undead Crypt. ![]() Quick pressure release: Open the vent and quick release the remaining pressure.Natural pressure release: After, allow a 10-minute natural release.Select manual, and set the cook time for 5 minutes on High Pressure. Unfortunately, it was lost forever (very recently, actually) in a tragic Dave Matthews Band security checkpoint search, but it will live forever in my heart. There’s something deeply appealing about a chunky metal rectangle that unfurls to reveal an arsenal of tools. This is the knife I carried for many years-it was with me on everything from heroic foraging missions to countless walks, bike rides, and picnics. I have a very deep soft spot for this one. This three-blade classic is an all-timer, both for its perfect grouping of knives (clip point, spey, and sheepsfoot) and its timeless woodgrain look. Here are the best pocket knives and multi-tools. Below, I’ve written about some hits from those producers, as well as some of my own favorites and some more generally loved eternal bangers. On that note, among Moxey’s favorite brands are Benchmade, Knafs, Civivi, and Case, which are all represented here. “ is truly like picking a favorite child!” said Moxey, who sort of did actually pick a favorite when he told me his daily go-to below. ![]() At the end of the day, though, pocket knives and multi-tools are not too different from chef’s knives: If you get a good one from a respected brand, it’s probably going to get the job done what actually matters most is that you feel badass while using it. Ultimately, we can spend all day hemming and hawing about the perfect size and material for a blade, the absolute necessary components of a satisfying multi-tool, whether a knife should have a clip, and what kind of opening technique is the best. I like to know I’m covered in those moments.” For him, it’s about being ready for anything. But there is always the moment when someone asks to borrow one or a task presents itself. Moxey, like all of us, uses his pocket knife mostly for mundane daily tasks: “Opening mail, breaking down boxes, cutting the tags off of stuff. “I’ve always got one.” And while he’s putting up numbers with regards to his collection, his criteria for a great knife is simple: It should be eye-catching and pocketable. “I honestly can’t remember a time when I wasn’t carrying a knife and needed one,” Moxey says. It helps, of course, that in addition to being a maniac with kitchen knives, he’s equally obsessed with collecting EDC blades. Still, it felt important to consult an expert on what to look for in a knife, so I hit up Brian Moxey, executive chef of internationally recognized bakery-restaurant Union Loafers and veteran of beloved NYC haunt Hearth (put another way, he’s a dude who spends all of his time thinking about and using sharp knives). While we do take our jobs as VICE’s shopping experts very seriously, even we know that if you’re actually preparing for a The Revenant or Zero Dark Thirty kind of situation, you’re probably not looking for tips on VICE’s shopping vertical. Like, I get that you’re a rugged, PBR drinkin’, Carhartt wearin’ warrior leading a humble hunter/gatherer life on the fringe of society Brooklyn, but I’m gonna go ahead and respectfully presume that you’re not the living reincarnation of Daniel Boone (or, you know, Jet Li). ![]() TBQF, if you’re reading this, you’re likely not considering a serious hunting-quality knife, or one for true covert operations. ![]() These types of tools are primarily what we’ll be looking at here. In knife culture, people love to talk about the EDC ( aka everyday carry), a knife you keep on you at all times for moments of necessity others carry multi-tools to be prepared for even more unknowns. Real talk, if you’re thinking about getting a knife, it’s important to be honest with yourself about why you want one. ![]() Ironically, Carpenter didn’t put much thought into who would play Myers. You could argue that there would be no Jason Voorhees, no Freddy Kruger, and no Ghostface, if Carpenter had gotten the casting of Myers wrong. His portrayal is what started the slasher genre craze. His Shape is the one that made everything else possible. No matter how good anyone else is at playing Michael Myers, no one will ever beat the performance of Nick Castle. This Michael Myers is brutal, and the best he’d been in years. The plot around him might have been a joke, but The Shape was not. Wilbur would get to show more of this seven years later in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Still, despite the mistakes, he shines as a believable and scary unstoppable force. Wilbur is hindered as well by the horrible decision to have him wear shoulder pads under his coveralls, making him look perpetually confused. In one odd moment the mask is even pink with blonde hair. The paint on the mask is too thick, taking away much of the creepiness factor. Everything that could go wrong with the design of this Boogeyman went wrong. After the failure of Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, Myers was brought back from the dead in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. His time under the mask gave us two very different versions of The Shape. Wilbur has the distinction of being the first man to play Michael Myers twice. This Michael Myers is less Boogeyman and more man. There were also many odd choices given to Durand, such as the way he clutches at his mask when his name is said or how he reacts when kicked in the crotch. Durand wasn’t awful as Myers, but his wide-legged gait didn’t match the gracefulness of the original Myers. The mask most used is wild haired with extra wide eyes, giving us too much of a peek at the man behind it. At least five were used during filming, including one that was CGI. His performance was hindered by an atrocious mask. That’s not all the fault of stuntman Chris Durand. What wasn’t a success, however, was the look of Myers. The film was a success, racking up $75 million worldwide, and breathing new life into a series that had become worn out. This entry wiped away all the convoluted sequels that came after 1981’s Halloween 2, instead choosing to focus on the brother and sister dynamic between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers. 20 years after the original film, Jamie Lee Curtis was back in this Steve Miner directed sequel. ![]() You have to make a selection and pick your favorite movie sticker to embellish your photo creation.
